Information about the BCCCA
The Bartow County School System and local employers have a strong partnership which has never been more relevant than now based on the current movement in education and need for a highly qualified workforce. The Bartow County College and Career Academy (BCCCA) is a joint venture between the community, K-12 education, post-secondary education, business and industry to ensure a viable workforce along with continued opportunities for the students of Bartow County.
Utilizing a $3.4 million grant from the state, the Bartow County College and Career Academy opened in August 2013 and is located at the Old Cass High School on Grassdale Road in Cartersville. Programs offered at the BCCCA include: Audio Video Technology, Automotive Technology, Certified Nursing Assistant, Cosmetology, HVAC, Engineering, Health Care, Marketing, Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Public Safety, Sports Medicine and Welding. Additionally, students who meet specific criteria can participate in dual college enrollment. These programs are available to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in the Bartow County School System.
Students participating in these programs will learn specific job skills related to both student interest and aptitude and have opportunities to participate in internships and job shadowing. The goal of The Academy is to provide educational opportunities for high school students and ensure a viable 21st Century workforce for Bartow County and the surrounding area.
